Moved....again

It's been 2 years - time to move yet again!  We realized that we have a habit of not staying in a house for more than two years.  The only house we've ever lived in for longer than 2 years was our first home in Gilbert on Marie Ct.  Unfortunately, we didn't have a choice on this one.  The house we were renting here in Singapore has been for sale this last year and it finally sold.  The people who purchased bought it to live in themselves so out we had to go.  Luckily it wasn't too hard finding another one, very similar, close by.  So, last weekend we moved a few streets away into our new pad.

Lucky for us, you can't rent a U-Haul and do it yourself here - you basically have to hire a company to move you.  Not too much work on our part - they came in, packed all our stuff and moved us over to the new house.  It all only took about two days.  They put all the furniture into the new house, right where we wanted it, unwrapped everything, and even started putting stuff back on shelves, etc.  Besdies forking out the $, it was all realivily painless.
Goodbye to our home for the last two years on Cedarwood Grove.

Hello to our new house on Woodgrove View.  There are many things we like better about this house and a few things that will take some getting used to.  Generally, not too different.  I realized how once our stuff is in and all set up - it feels like home, no matter where it is.  We've had 5 days to unpack and settle in and now it's off to the US for some summer fun!

End of the School Year

A busy wrap up of the school year the last few weeks.  School let out for the kids last Tuesday (June 5).  We finished out with music concerts, gymnastics meet, and general end of year fieldtrips and activities.
Breann had her last violin concert of the year.  She also graduated from Elementary School as she will start Middle School next year in 6th grade.
Alexa has been participating in team gymnastics and had her first official meet.  She performed well - it was fun for her to show off what she learns with 4 hours a week of gymnastics practice.
A sad time of year as we said goodbye to family and good friends.  My sister moved back to the states right after school got out - they're heading back to Minnesota.  Singapore will not be the same without them.  How blessed we have been to have had these past few years with family here - very unusual.  We also said goodbye to our good friends, the Stevens who moved back to Utah.  We have 9 families from our ward moving this summer so it's been very sad.  Ashlyn, Dallin and Bryant have all losing their closest friends.  Ashlyn made the huge cupcake cake for her friend Lisel (with help from her Mia Maid leader) on their final days together.
Bryant had to say goodbye to his closest friend for the past two years - Ava.  Luckily the wedding invitation for their future wedding is already made (that's what happens when you have bored siblings) :).
Dallin headed to Beijing (pictured on the Great Wall and in Tienanmen Square) on the day school got out to spend some time with his friend Brayden before he moves back to the states.  The dads tagged along too (and Brayden's younger brother).
It's going to be hard for us to get used to being here without some of these wonderful people we have had the privilege to know and spend time with the past few years.  It's one of the hard things about being an expat - people come and go.  Luckily we'll always have the memories and the impressions on our lives that those who leave give us.
