Last weekend (that would be two weekends ago actually), the kids had a few days off from school so we headed to Southern California to spend some time with grandparents and some aunts, uncles and cousins. The weather could not have been more perfect. Saturday we spent at Balboa in Newport Beach. We rented a big bike for the adults and the kids road scooters, rollerblades and ripsicks down the boardwalk. We had lunch at Ruby's on the pier and then spend some time just playing in the sand and surf. The kids had so much fun at the beach that we went back on Monday for a few hours with our Bruschke cousins. The kids love spending time at Grandma and Grandpa Larsen's house. They love the huge yard with the tree house, the jacuzzi, hide-outs on the hill, the tire swing, the cats, Lego's galore - and of course, spending quality time with Grandma and Grandpa.

You've got the best of both worlds... visiting your parents AND visiting Southern California!! It looks like your kids had a great time with them.
Cami- I have to admit that I haven't looked at your blog in a while. I have been so crazy. I got the chance and caught up. Your family is so cute! I love the time out story with your little one. Isn't it nice to not really have to dicipline yet!! He is so sweet. I also loved the candy trading stories. I think that is a big family thing. I come from nine kids and we used to do that too. So many good memories. You have some good perspective about the mess witht he toys. I'll have to try and apply that one. "creativity at is best!!" I like it. Thanks for the tip. One more way to help me be more patient and understanding. Good to catch up!
