A fabulous Spring Break week in southern California

We headed down to my parents house in southern California to spend our Spring Break.  The kids and I traveled done Monday morning and then Craig met us there on Wednesday afternoon. We began our week with a beautiful day at our favorite beach - the Montage.  

My two sister-in-laws, Tracy and Rachel, met us there with their kids - as well as some of our friends from Danville (and lots of their cousins).  We were quite the group.  It was fun for the kids to play with their cousins and friends.

My dad kept saying that the kids would not get in the water - it was still so cold.  However, true to my prediction, Ashlyn and Breann spent much of the time out swimming and jumping waves.

The kids spent a lot of time playing in grandma & grandpa's backyard and up on 'the hill' behind their house.  We took multiple walks to what we call 'skip rock lake' to find frogs (many of which we got the pleasure of bringing home with us).

Thursday we headed to Disneyland (and California Adventure).  We had such a great time!

This was Alexa's first time at Disneyland.  Luckily she loved all the roller-coasters (since that's mostly what you go on when you have older siblings).  She was only sad that we never found any princesses.

We met friends there from home - the Earl's and the Garff's.  The kids had fun passing time in line with their friends.  Dave Garff set us up with a 'schedule' thanks to some software called Ridemax.  We were a bit hesitant at first but are now believers.  We were able to go on 21 rides on one of the busiest days of the year.  We never waited more than 35 minutes - it was really amazing.  Thanks Dave!  Thanks also to mom and Tracy for watching Bryant for us - much more enjoyable without carting around a little one.

We ended our fun week with an Easter egg hunt in Grandma's backyard.  This was all so exciting for Bryant since holiday traditions are always new to him.  What two year old doesn't love to find candy hidden all around (thank you grandma for hiding some with playdough and change so we didn't go home with ridiculous amounts of candy). 

We truly had an amazing week and feel so lucky to have family not too far away (and who live in such a fun place).
