Pinecrest

This past weekend, we headed to Pinecrest for our unofficial ward campout.  Traditionally this has been held at Big Sur (on the coast) but due to the fires last year, the campground at Big Sur is closed for repair.  So we found a new spot just outside of Yosemite to hold the traditional camp weekend.  This is a highlight for the kids as they get to spend a few days running around camp with friends.

Riding bikes is always a must so this year 5 families got together and rented a trailer to carry bikes.  We got to pull the trailer since we have a hitch.  It was quite comical to see a trailer pilled with about 24 bikes.  We got some pretty funny looks on the road.

S'mores are a highlight for the kids.  Bryant in particular loves a 'marshmallow sandwich'.
This campground had  a beautiful lake that we could walk to.  We spent much of Saturday playing in and around the lake.  We went back later for swimsuits.  The kids played in the water, fished, and rented paddle boats.

The best part is just moving from campsite to campsite visiting ward members and hanging out with friends.

We really fell in love with the beauty of Pinecrest.  We went on a hike around the lake that revealed so much of the beauty of the surrounding area.  I'm not a big camper (2 nights max for me) but it was so neat to see the kids have so much fun enjoying the great outdoors!
